This cake was special indeed. Family throwing a party for their 80 year old mother and grandmother in my mind is a very dear event.
This cake was also something different for me. It was my first time doing hydrangeas. I was a little nervous but in the end they turned out okay.
The cake was a two tier square cake. The bottom tier was white almond cake with raspberry filling and the top tier was chocolate cake with cream cheese filling. The icing was buttercream and the hydrangeas and bow were gum paste. Gum paste was also new to me but was so much better to use in this cake than fondant.
