I've done several of these cakes, but this one was a little different with the zebra print. My sister in law (who is recently engaged I might add. Congrats Claire!!!) helped with a lingerie shower for a friend and asked me to do a zebra print version of the lingerie cake. It was fun to do!
The cake was chocolate chip with chocolate butter cream filling and white butter cream icing. The zebra print was fondant.
I've been doing several of these lately, but that's okay because I really like them. The first one was for a birthday girl. It was chocolate cake and buttercream filling and icing.
The second was for a good friend, Embroidery Amy. She was having a family girls weekend and needed a girly cake. This is what I came up with. The cake was yellow with cream cheese icing and strawberries. I had an incident with the strawberries, but I'll have to share that another time. It's very late and my eyes are glazing over.
So I have this friend (who was really my sister's best friend and more like another sister to me) who spent lots of time at our house growing up and the three of us spent many nights giggling while we were all piled up in one bed. Such fun memories! Now, she has a little girl who is turning one. Oh how life changes......oh the nostalgia....oh how bitter sweet.
Enough reminiscing...back to the cake.
This little sis of mine and a good friend of her's decided to have their kids' first birthdays together. They asked me to do a black and white cow print with red accents. I really love these colors together. The top tier of the cake was yellow cake and cream cheese filling with strawberries and the bottom tier was butter pecan cake with cream cheese filling. The icing was butter cream and the decorations fondant. Thanks for looking.
